Completed in 2003, BIO CITY LEIPZIG is one of the most modern centers for biotechnology and biomedicine in Germany. It is located near the Deutsche Bücherei (National German Library), the Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology and the most important natural science institutes of the University of Leipzig.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Immunology and Cell Therapy (IZI) is currently renting raw space in the BIO CITY LEIPZIG as it offers the required infrastructure and laboratory space. This space is permanently rented and will be connected with a bridge to the building currently under construction which is owned by Fraunhofer IZI.
